Freshman Vance Honeycutt recorded the first four-hit game of his career, finishing a double shy of the cycle, and stole three bases to lead UNC to a 12-5 win over visiting Gardner-Webb on Tuesday. Angel Zarate hit a leadoff home run and Mac Horvath crushed a grand slam for the Tar Heels (28-18), who have won four of five since the exam break.
