UNC Falls In Super Regional Opener; Vance Honeycutt Makes History

With two outs in the bottom of the eight, freshman centerfielder Vance Honeycutt launched a solo home run to score UNC's first run in a 4-1 loss. The home run was his 25th of the season, breaking a tie with Devy Bell for the most home runs in a season in UNC history. Game 2 in UNC's best-of-3 Super Regional against Arkansas continues Sunday.
