On a wild night in ACC women’s basketball, No. 13 North Carolina’s physical battle with Florida State in the Tar Heels’ ACC opener fit right in. Carolina became the third ranked ACC team to lose on Thursday to an unranked league opponent as Florida State took control with a 13–1 third-quarter run and held on for a 78–71 victory at Carmichael Arena.
