McCants' 20 second-half points send Tar Heels to WNIT title game

North Carolina didn't dodge a bullet Wednesday night. It was more like a nuclear weapon. UNC's dominated the second half, finishing with 27 points to lead the No. 4 Tar Heels to a 73-67 win over No. 23 Xavier in the semifinals of the Preseason WNIT. If it hadn't been for McCants' 20 points after halftime, which included a personal 11-0 run midway through the second half, their run in the tournament likely would have been over.
