Vance Honeycutt’s strong arm and improved power were just what No. 15 UNC Baseball needed to win a terrific pitching battle against No. 11 East Carolina. The junior center fielder led off the eighth inning with a 409-foot home run as the Tar Heels won the opener of a three-game series Friday over the Pirates 2-1 (Highlights) at Boshamer Stadium.
