The beat goes on in Chapel Hill. Sylvia Hatchell had some big holes to fill, but quickly discovered her big quartet of Jessica Breland, Rashanda McCants, Italee Lucas and Cetera DeGraffenreid is more than capable of keeping the Tar Heels in the conversation for a No. 1 seed all season. The Preseason WNIT championship game win at Oklahoma was impressive and will go far in what will likely be a hotly contested fight for the three other top seeds after UConn.
