Sylvia Hatchell claims career win No. 800
Posted Jan 12, 2009
For 40 minutes Sunday at the Smith Center, N.C. State rained on North Carolina coach Sylvia Hatchell's milestone parade. Then the game went to overtime. UNC scored the first 10 points of the extra period, coasting to a 75-66 women's basketball victory over the scrappy Wolfpack and giving the veteran coach her 800th career win. That meant for an unlikely coincidence, as Hatchell also had picked up her 500th, 600th and 700th wins over N.C. State.
