UNC Softball’s Kiannah Pierce Finds Joy After Long Recovery

Kiannah Pierce stood on first base sobbing uncontrollably. Fall ball games usually don’t elicit such strong emotions, but Pierce had every reason to let the tears flow. The UNC senior outfielder had endured more than two years of pain and anguish stemming from a concussion suffered during practice, getting hit by a car, and mourning the loss of her father.
