'Doctor' Carter French goes from walk-on to key player in left field for UNC

The "doctor" was patient while waiting his turn, but after walking on and being a reserve his first 2 1/2 seasons, became a key part of UNC Baseball's run to the ACC title and Super Regionals. A biology major who plans to go to medical school, French took over in left field in April due to his excellent defense and has started ever since. (Tar Heel Tribune)
