Northeastern North Carolina bled New York Yankee pinstripes for Catfish Hunter until native son Trot Nixon arrived in Boston. New Diamond Heels catcher Macon Winslow has ironically committed a similar switch, playing two seasons at Duke before transferring this offseason to Carolina to take up his glove behind home plate at Boshamer Stadium.
