Reniya Kelly’s childhood was a tour of Central Alabama. But no matter where in the state she went, she couldn’t escape one fact. "Alabama, that’s a football state," she says. "Basketball is second." That, combined with Kelly’s small stature and her soft-spoken nature, caused her to be regularly overlooked. So her talent had to speak for itself, and it did.
