Maria Gakdeng To Continue Professional Basketball Career In Spain

Former UNC center Maria Gakdeng has signed with Spanish club Celta Zorka for the 2026-27 season after an impressive rookie campaign in Hungary. Gakdeng averaged 13.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game with Tarr KSC Szekszard, earning All-Defensive Team and All-Imports honors while helping the club reach the Hungarian Cup final.
