Maryland sends UNC packing in first round of ACC Women's Tournament

To say this season has been trying for North Carolina coach Sylvia Hatchell would be an understatement. Thursday's 83-77 loss to Maryland in the opening round of the ACC Tournament was another microcosm. Hatchell tried different defenses. She tried different lineups. She even tried calling time outs. But the Tar Heels fell too far behind in each half and were able to muster only one lead -- 12 seconds in. (Durham Herald-Sun)
