Megan Buckland commits to UNC
Posted May 6, 2010
Megan Buckland, a 6-0 junior guard at Bishop McGuinness and the winner of this year's Mary Garber Award as the Winston-Salem Journal's girls prep-basketball player of the year, has committed to North Carolina. Coach Brian Robinson of McGuinness said Thursday morning that Buckland made her decision Wednesday night, choosing UNC over Florida State and N.C. State. Buckland was the most-outstanding player in the NCHSAA 1-A championship game in 2009 and 2010 and helped the Villains win both title games.
