Diamondbacks "hopeful" on signing Ty Linton

The Diamondbacks, I’m told, are “hopeful” they will be able to get a deal done with North Carolina high school outfielder Ty Linton, whom they selected in the 14th round of the June draft. I’m guessing this probably means they’re going to get a deal done. Here’s a little background info on him. Linton reportedly wants a seven-figure bonus to buy him out of his commitment to North Carolina, where he’s supposed to play football and baseball. Couple that with his raw baseball abilities and it explains why he slipped in the draft.
