This could be the year for ACC baseball breakthrough

In the summer of 1955, right after Wake Forest beat Western Michigan for the NCAA title, most baseball fans assumed that nobody would break Babe Ruth's home run record or Lou Gehrig's consecutive-games streak. The archives did not record anyone walking out of Rosenblatt Stadium and predicting that the fledgling ACC would never win another College World Series. But that's still a fact, 55 years and counting.
