Chay Shegog scored 19 points and Krista Gross had 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 23 North Carolina to a 65-61 win over East Carolina on Tuesday night. The Tar Heels (8-2) used their size to pull out the win. They twice got rebounds after missing free throws in the final 23 seconds, keeping the Pirates (6-4) from beating a Top 25 team for the first time in four years.
