Chay Shegog scored 16 points to help No. 24 North Carolina beat N.C. State 60-50 on Sunday. Candace Wood added 15 points for the Tar Heels, who won their second straight game to cap a week that began with the worst loss in program history, at Connecticut. North Carolina shot 42 percent but did its best work in frustrating the Wolfpack offense all afternoon, holding N.C. State to three field goals in the final 10 1/2 minutes.
