UNC women survive Cavs’ rally

As a tuneup for Monday’s showdown against No. 5 Duke, North Carolina played a little off key but still came away with a 64-56 win over Virginia Friday night at Carmichael Arena. The No. 23 Tar Heels, who have beaten Virginia in 16 of the past 17 meetings including eight in a row at home, were led by Chay Shegog’s 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting.
