Lucas: Emergency Ace
Posted May 13, 2012
Shane Taylor didn't find out he was starting Sunday's series finale at Duke until the Tar Heels arrived at the park, roughly 90 minutes before the first pitch. He spent the next eight innings showing why it was the perfect choice. Taylor allowed just one hit over those eight frames, struck out eight while walking just one, and never allowed a Blue Devil runner to reach second base on the way to a 3-0 shutout and a series sweep.
