North Carolina extended its school record for single-season wins with its 59th victory. UNC won its nation-leading 49th postseason game since 2006. 3B Colin Moran finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs, his 90th and 91st runs batted in of the season. Moran is the UNC record holder for single-season RBIs and became the first ACC player to reach 90 RBIs since Florida State's Buster Posey in 2008.
