ESPN Names Diamond DeShields ACC Freshman of the Year

Much was expected from UNC's Diamond DeShields...and much has been delivered by the guard who took over a leadership role despite her freshman status. With coach Sylvia Hatchell out battling leukemia, DeShields' maturity was much-needed by the young Tar Heels. So were her scoring (17.7) and rebounding (5.5) numbers.
