Diamond DeShields Selected To Wooden Award Final Ballot

North Carolina guard Diamond DeShields is the only freshman selected to The John R. Wooden Award Ballot, announced Thursday by The Los Angeles Athletic Club. The Norcross, Ga., native averages 17.7 points and 5.5 rebounds for the 13th-ranked Tar Heels. DeShields was named Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year on Wednesday and first team All-ACC on Tuesday.
