Lucas: Losing Control Posted May 24, 2007 The seventh inning turned into one of those frames that make pitching coaches prematurely gray. Over a head-shaking stretch, a series of Tar Heel pitchers went to a full count on 9 of 12 hitters. One of the three hitters who didn't go full was plunked on a 2-1 count. Add it up and the seventh inning turned into a 55-pitch marathon. The irony was that the inning proved what Fox had said earlier--it was a perfect day to pitch. (Tar Heel Blue)
