North Carolina’s offense tied their highest run total of the season and scored six in the eighth inning to break a 7-7 tie and defeat a red-hot Maryland team in the ACC Tournament on Saturday. Maryland had very little to play for having already locked up their spot in the ACC Championship game on Sunday. UNC, on the other hand, needed a win to improve its postseason chances.
