Tar Heels undefeated, prep for Connecticut

Belying the intensity of Monday's game, Sylvia Hatchell and longtime Virginia coach Debbie Ryan got together Sunday to drive to Raleigh, where they visited with Kay Yow. The N.C. State head coach, in another grim fight with cancer, has turned over the reins to assistant coach Stephanie Glance as she undergoes treatment. But friendship only goes so far, and Monday night, North Carolina jumped on Virginia from the tip. (Chapel Hill News)
