No. 13 Tar Heels Drop Opener Against Virginia, 7-4


Nate Eikhoff landed the decisive blow with a three-run triple in the third inning, and No. 25 Virginia held on for a 7-4 win over No. 13 North Carolina Friday at Davenport Field. UNC got the tying run to the plate twice in the late innings, but Kevin Doherty and Tommy Doyle combined to get the last nine outs and make a winner out of UVA starter Connor Jones. (GoHeels.com)
