Cox goes from CWS to Dogs

Fayetteville isn’t Omaha, Neb. The Coastal Plain League isn’t the College Baseball World Series, either. But SwampDogs pitcher-first baseman Matt Cox doesn’t mind. And glad to wear the Carolina-like blue and white of the South Division-leading SwampDogs. “I figured if I was going to play for someone I was going to play for the best team in the league,” Cox said. A week ago, the UNC freshman reserve from Shallotte was enjoying and suffering the experience of the Tar Heels’ run in the CWS.
