Heels falter in NCAA title bid

For most of eight days, North Carolina's run through the College World Series was about nothing but fun and winning baseball games. Then, thanks mostly to a resilient Oregon State pitching staff that was admittedly running on fumes, it all came undone for the Tar Heels. The Beavers, with starter Jonah Nickerson pitching for the third time in a week, beat the Tar Heels 3-2 Monday in the third and deciding game of the CWS championship series at Rosenblatt Stadium.
