No. 4 Tar Heels Open ACC Tourney With NC State

With a regular season-record 45 wins and the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division title under its belt, No. 2 seed North Carolina carries its highest seeding since 1990 into the ACC Championship, which opens Wednesday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Winners of four straight, the Tar Heels (45-11, 22-8 ACC) will square off against No. 7 seed NC State (35-19, 16-13 ACC) in the second game of the tournament at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
