North Carolina's Defense Stout in Opening Test
Posted Sep 3, 2018
While North Carolina’s offense floundered in the 24-17 loss to California on Saturday, John Papuchis’ defense delivered one of the best performances of the Larry Fedora era. Cal totaled 279 yards at a 3.4 yards-per-play rate, marking just the fourth time since 2012 that UNC has held a Power 5 opponent to fewer than 300 total yards of offense and fewer than 4 yards per play.
