It’s fair to say North Carolina quarterback Nathan Elliott didn’t have his best game in the season-opening loss at California. By halftime, the junior had only completed two passes for 12 yards and three more for interceptions. UNC head coach Larry Fedora briefly considering playing true freshman Cade Fortin, Elliott’s backup, but ultimately decided to stick with his veteran.
