Hall of Fame wait lifted off of Charlie Scott’s shoulders


has been overshadowed for decades, despite his remarkable story. He was the first African-American scholarship athlete at UNC, and a member of the 1968 US Olympic team, witnessing firsthand the protests of track athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos.
