Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera understands that Giovani Bernard, scheduled to start in place of injured back Joe Mixon for the Cincinnati Bengals, represents a threat. Defensive end Wes Horton and linebacker Luke Kuechly are also familiar with the threat posed by Bernard, a University of North Carolina product. Kuechly compared Bernard to a familiar foe.
