Thompson averaged 21.5 points, 13.8 rebounds and 4.6 blocks for the Tartars, impressing several South Bay coaches along the way. "You put Deon on our team, we don't lose," West Torrance coach Karim Girgis said. Thompson signed before the season with North Carolina and plans to leave for Chapel Hill soon after graduation.
