North Carolina’s defensive line was expected to be one of the team’s strengths this season. Suspensions of defensive ends Malik Carney and Tomon Fox, along with a lingering knee injury to defensive tackle Aaron Crawford, have created opportunities for young guys. In last weekend’s loss at Virginia, freshman defensive end Chris Collins earned significant reps.
