It took less than 14 minutes for No. 11 Michigan State to build a 36-16 lead over 17th-ranked UCLA in the Las Vegas Invitational on Thursday. The Spartans shot 52 percent from the floor while holding Steve Alford’s squad to 36 percent. Four Bruins scored double figures, led by Kris Wilkes’s 15. UNC leads the all-time series with UCLA, 8-3, and has won seven of the last eight.
