Tar Heels turn back determined upset bid by Racers; Hansbrough scores 24

North Carolina opened defense of its 2005 NCAA Tournament championship last night by taking a hard-fought 69-65 win over determined Murray State. UNC got a big basket from Tyler Hansbrough, two free throws from Marcus Ginyard and a blocked shot by Reyshawn Terry, all in the final 43 seconds, to break out of a 65-65 tie and advance to Sunday's second round.
