Letter: Current and Former UNC Student-Athletes Against Silent Sam


In consideration of the legal limitations imposed on the University of North Carolina by the state legislature, we recommend the administration deem the Silent Sam monument a threat to public safety by virtue of its homage to racial violence and its historical record as the epicenter for clashes between white supremacist groups and members of the Carolina community.
