If Wednesday’s Early Signing Period offered an assessment of North Carolina’s ability to regain its in-state recruiting presence under Mack Brown, it was a declaration that an old approach would become new again. In three weeks, Brown and his coaching staff managed to secure an 18-member recruiting class that had catapulted up the national rankings to No. 37.
