North Carolina swapped the rhythm and beauty of the basketball it played down the stretch of the regular season for survival mode in the Tar Heels' 79-67 victory against Virginia in the quarterfinals of the 53rd ACC Tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum on Friday night. "It's something big to be able to grind out games like this," said senior David Noel, who had 10 points and 11 rebounds. "For us, it was ugly tonight. It was a grinder."
