Juggling Set Plays vs. Freelance in Late-Game Situations

North Carolina ran four set plays in the final minutes of its win over Miami on Feb. 9 and each yielded points. Similar plays were called in the loss to Virginia last Monday with contrasting results. It wasn't the effectiveness of the play calls, however, that drew interest following those games, but rather that Roy Williams leaned on designed plays to such an extent at all.
