Zion did not beat the Tar Heels Friday. They beat themselves. The game matched its anticipated intensity, with a record crowd for college basketball in North Carolina (20,116). Perhaps the hype over Williamson’s first full game against the rival caused nervous energy, as neither team played particularly well. UNC was a little worse than Duke and shot a lot worse.
