The Financial Stakes of the NCAA Tournament

Bubba Cunningham’s favorite team wears blue and white. But UNC’s athletic director will be pulling for more than his Tar Heels when the NCAA men’s basketball tournament begins on Tuesday. One of the reasons has to do with a different color: green. In short, the better the ACC does in the tournament, the more lucrative it is for the schools in the conference.
