North Carolina flirted with its own season-ending mortality, before an inspired second half erased the danger. The top-seeded Tar Heels turned it on and dispatched Iona 88-73 on Friday in their NCAA Tournament opener in Columbus, Ohio. Cameron Johnson supplied 21 points and Nassir Little scored 19 to lead five players in double figures for UNC. (Burlington Times News)
