Former UNC star Jeff McInnis’ second act: building dominant travel hoops team from scratch

After retiring from his 12-year NBA career in 2008, Jeff McInnis came home to Charlotte to train teenagers. Some of the kids asked if he would put together a travel team. They wanted him to call the team the “Jeff McInnis All-Stars,” but McInnis — a former all-ACC point guard under Dean Smith at UNC — didn’t want his name on it. So he picked Team Charlotte.
