U.S. Soccer Legend Kristine Lilly On World Cups And Winning Teams

It was the longest walk of Kristine Lilly’s life. In front of 90,000 fans in the Rose Bowl, Lilly walked from the center circle to the penalty area as the nation held its breath. It was the final of the 1999 Women’s World Cup and, in the penalty shootout, China had just missed its third penalty. If Lilly scored, the U.S. Women’s National Team would have the advantage.
