The Tar Heels had to claw their way back in the South Regional against Arkansas in the Round of 32 and won a classic Elite Eight game against Kentucky, when Luke Maye drilled a game-winner for the ages. Joel Berry was hobbled by ankle injuries. But Justin Jackson and Kennedy Meeks brought UNC back to the title game, where they would face Gonzaga.
