Tar Heels come apart in first inning as season ends

North Carolina started sophomore right-handed pitcher Joey Lancellotti (6-4) for his second start of the season. He walked the game’s first four batters, and was replaced by Connor Ollio. “I’ll be second-guessed from now until the end of time on this one,” said coach Mike Fox, who figured the team needed Lancellotti to last 75 to 80 pitches against Auburn.
