North Carolina defensive coordinator Jay Bateman spoke with the media after Thursday's practice. On where the defense is overall: "I think we’re improving — I don’t think your’e ever comfortable — so I think we’re improving, I think they understand 'why' more, I think they’re able to do it on their own more.
